What’s an Engineering Notebook?
From the description of the VEX Design Award,
“The Engineering Notebook is a way for teams to document how the VEX Robotics Competition experience has helped them to better understand the engineering design process while also practicing a variety of critical life skills including project management, time management, brainstorming and teamwork.”
The Engineering Notebook is a critical part of any robotics team, and every team should have one. Our coach, Mrs. Reeves, has taught Engineering Notebook Sessions for both teams and coaches in Prince William County assisted by NOVA team members, showing teams the components of a great award winning notebook. This slideshow, made by Jamie Marie Pangilinan offers some great tips for teams on their Engineering Notebook. Jamie is a member of the PWCS All-County HS VEX Team, where last fall she and her team sat in on Mrs. Reeves Engineering Notebook session and proceeded to have a notebook that won multiple awards last year.
