On Friday March 27th, the NOVA1 Robotics volunteers went for a swim. Manassas Park Community Center hosted the 2015 Seaperch Regional Competition. There were eighty eight teams and approximately three hundred kids in attendance. Eight teams will move on to Nationals from this event. For the first time in history in the Northern Virginia area, there were so many first ways ties that the program for calculating the scores was unable to decided the over all winner.
Our volunteers acted as judges in Innovative Design and Logo Design. We got to see many different designs, some very creative logos, and well organized engineering notebooks and presentations. There were four different obstacles for ROVs into compete in; the new national finesse challenge, the recovery challenge, the speed challenge, and the obstacle challenge. All teams had to prepare presentations to include the teams Logo Design, Innovatice Design, Engineering Notebook and an research paper. The teams did a great job. We had a wonderful time at the competition and hope to see you next year.
